On Wednesday, we Row!

Today was a busy day. Everyone got some much needed rest after yesterday's(?) red eye and lack of proper sleep, awakening to a lovely English June day. Breezy, puffy clouds, blue sky, sunshine and probably a couple of stray raindrops. We got the two Hudson eights rigged (one is a 2019 and the other is a brand new 2022, never rowed until today) and the two crews and Madi, our spare, got their first taste of the river Thames and the Henley reach. Just a late morning row, followed by a visit to the Waitrose grocery store for lunch and breakfast food shopping. The athletes had the afternoon off to explore and rest. Henley is a lovely, old English town filled with shops and restaurants, walking trails, and, of course, the river with the Royal Henley Regatta infrastructure installation being completed this week. Lots to see. The coaches spent the afternoon fitting the new Hudson with our Shimano shoe system that we brought from home.

Tomorrow, more rowing, more focused practice time with coaching from the river bank, and, of course, more adventures!

Cheers,

Coach Pat
