Today we returned to the second day of the Reading Amateur Regatta, where many different competitors showed up, including some masters and youth rowers. Today's event was 1000m races in the same format of single elimination by event. We arrived a bit early to lovely weather; cool air and warm sunshine, with enough time to relax and watch some local racing pass by within a few feet of the riverbank. The 2V and 1V both easily advanced to the final round, where we were pitted against our hometown friends from Clark University, and ultimately, both WPI crews won their events and some handsome RAR medals to take home. We finished up about 1PM and returned to Henley for a well-earned relaxing afternoon. Tomorrow, the crews will return to Reading to row the boats back to Henley in the morning, Tuesday is an off day, and Wednesday we get to practice on the Henley Women's Regatta course here in Henley as we prepare for the main event later this week. Cheers to all and THANK YOU for all the support and cheering from near and far!
FAST IS FUN!
