Thursday - preparing for weekend racing in Reading

Today was another nice day with sun, clouds, sprinkles, a touch of rain - mostly t-shirt weather. Typical English summer day. We practiced twice today, still getting the rigging figured out with the new boats, and keeping sharp for Saturday and Sunday racing at the Reading Amateur Regatta, hosted by the Reading Rowing Club. The crews will row up the Thames tomorrow, negotiating 4 locks to reach the venue in Reading upriver from Henley, about 12-14 miles away. Coaches will follow along the river on bicycles, on the Thames River path, with traverses fields and woods and more. Our hosts continue to be gracious and accommodating, and everyone is enjoying the fresh English produce, dairy and more. Thursdays bring the Farmer's Market to Henley, which is always a great place to find fresh fruits and veggies, breads, desserts and more. More adventure reporting later tomorrow....
